Why valet parking for your event?

Valet parking creates an air of distinction. It provides a first and lasting impression for your guests. It saves them from driving around trying to find a parking space in a small or busy parking lot. And perhaps most importantly, it saves your guests from walking a long distance to your location, especially in inclement weather.

Anything special needed?

Some municipalities may require a police detail for certain events when a large amount of vehicles are expected to arrive or depart and may disrupt local traffic. We also always suggest that it is a good idea to notify the neighbors as far in advance as possible of your event date so that any issues, precautions or problems can be worked out.

How do you choose a valet parking company for your event?

When you offer valet parking for your event, the valet parking company you hire is the first and last impression with your guest or customer. It’s a perfect way to enhance their experience. Many view the valet parking service you hire as a part of your company. Be sure to hire a professional service that reflects the image you want to give your customers or guests.

Choose a company that has solid references. Choose a valet company that is listed with a local Chamber of Commerce and is listed in printed telephone directories. This allows customers or clients to contact the valet company directly for speedy service, in the unlikely event that there is a problem or claim. If the valet company is not listed, you should wonder why.

Is the valet parking company insured?

Without a doubt, this is the most important question to ask.

Even the smallest accident can create a lawsuit in today’s litigious society. It is very difficult for valet parking companies to protect themselves when in most instances, the insurance company sides with the individual making the claim (the claimant). In the case of an accident or claim, the claimant must be responded to immediately. Poor handling of the situation could severely damage your relationship with the customer and your company’s image. If the valet company handles the situation correctly, your company’s reputation and your relationship with the customer will not only be salvaged, but strengthened.

With that said, we always handle a claim quickly and professionally and in a manner that would reflect well upon you as the host of an event or the owner of a business.

There are many types of liability insurance your valet service should have:

General Liability Insurance provides protection for the parking company for their negligence should they injure or damage someone or someone else’s property (i.e. Bodily Injury and Property Damage Coverage) This would be to a third party.

Garage-keepers Legal Liability Insurance provides protection for the parking company for their negligence should they damage the customers vehicle in which they have taken into their care, custody and control.

Worker’s Compensation Insurance: Workers’ Compensation insurance is business insurance that provides medical and disability coverage for employees who sustain job-related injuries. Worker’s Compensation insurance policies will cover an employee’s medical expenses and reimburse him or her for some percentage of lost wages.

Employers’ Liability Insurance protects companies against the costs of defending employment-related claims brought by employees for work-related injuries or illness. The Employers’ Liability coverage is usually one portion of a standard Workers’ Compensation policy.

What is the cost?

In the 30 years Prestige Valet Parking has been in business, we have always offered variable billing options. No event is cookie-cutter. Things we take into consideration:

• Number of guests, number of expected vehicles, whether the vehicles are expected to arrive all at once or staggered
• Location of your event
• Distance from the entrance of your event to the lot where valet parked vehicles will be parked (which will determine how many valet attendants are needed)
• Insurance cost (also based on the number of valets and estimated amount of vehicles expected to valet park)
• Permit fees that may incur
• If any police or traffic details are required

Some events are billed by the hour, per valet attendant or by a flat rate. Each event is customized and based on what is required for service for your special event. We always provide an on-site consultation to make sure we quote accurately to best serve you and your guests.
